Aliah Yacoub is an AI and philosophy researcher. She is currently the head of techQualia at Synapse Analytics, the region’s first qualitative, interdisciplinary platform that stands at the intersection between society and technology, aiming to push the frontiers of AI research, design, and critique in the region by localizing AI content. Her research interests include employing existential phenomenology to explore the dynamic entanglement of body and mind in consciousness, machine sentience, and artificial cognition.
She holds a double BA in Political Science and Philosophy from the American University in Cairo and an MA in Philosophy of Mind from the University of Groningen (RUG).
