My name is Sama Barakat, and I am a 4th-year fashion design student at
the
International University in Cairo. I recently returned to Cairo after completing my Bachelor Thesis studies at HTW Berlin. During my time in Berlin, dedicated my academic pursuits to exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and fashion design processes. During my sixth semester the summer of 2023 at the German International University, my Professor Kegham Djeghalian provided us with an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Dior. Under the guidance of our professors and Dior’s prominent designers, we were tasked with creating three projects inspired by Doria Shafik, the Egyptian feminist, poet, and editor. We implemented Dior’s codes and values while drawing inspiration from their rich history and archives. On June 26, 2023, my colleagues and I were invited to present our semester’s work in Paris to Dior designers and have a rich educational experience.
