Mr. Ahmad has over 25 years in managing financial serviceslFintech companies in Egypt with outreach activities in North Africa, where he has a strong understanding of the industry & the market
As part of his position in those companies, Mr. Ahmad was responsible for all aspects of their life cycle, starting from the inception of the business concept, setting the overall strategy, designing the business plan, putting the companies into operations, all the way to the execution of a profitable exit to all shareholders.
Mr. Ahmad’s main expertise is in top management, where his strong leadership skills, financial service industry network and his negotiations skills, enabled the companies that he managed to operate successfully and led them to be market leaders in their relative market niches.
Mr. Ahmad has strong knowledge and understanding of different disciplines within the industry, ranging from reviewing business models, to securing financial resources required, to operational know-how. He has a proven track record in securing profitable exits as well.
One of Mr. Ahmad main achievements is his role in building Egypt’s 1st private “Third Part Processor” from inception with a successful exit yielding a two-digit multiplier on investment over the course of 5 years.
He built for a financial services group operating out of the Gulf, an expansion strategy plan, in the North Africa region.
Currently, Mr. Ahmad is the GM of Dopay Egypt, a specialized fintech company that offers payment solutions for the unbanked.
Mr. Ahmad as well is engaged with the Central Bank of Egypt in drafting the CBE fintech strategy in Egypt.
Mr. Ahmad volunteers to mentor fintech startups in Egypt through affiliations with a few active incubators in Egypt.
Mr. Ahmad is a member in the American, Canadian and Dutch Egyptian chambers of commerce as well as a member in the Federation of Egyptian Industries. He is a board member in a number of companies working in the field of technology & payment
He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Helwan University in 1977.
