Susan Sabet launched PASHION a quarterly, bi-lingual Arabic & English, fashion, beauty & luxury magazine in 2003, that enjoys a pan-Arab distribution in 9 countries. In May 2016, Susan launched PASHION Vienna, the first and only Arabic fashion & luxury magazine in Austria.
PASHION for eight years in a row was the only Arab magazine, appointed as media partner at the annual NyTimes Luxury Conference.
She is one of the five founding members and General Secretary of the Egyptian Fashion & Design Council to officially launch in November 2017.
She is also a member of the Governor’s Committee of the Mena Couture Council and a voting member of the British Fashion Awards.
SInce 2014 she is on the list of the top 500 most influential people in the fashion industry by The Business Of Fashion.
She was appointed project organizer and curator for the Egyptian showcase at the IFS at London Fashion Week, February 2016 and February 2017. She was the curator of the Egyptian designers team invited to participate at Vienna Fashion Week in September 2021
Since 2016 she is also providing consulting service for the fashion and luxury retail industry and in July 2021 was appointed on the board of the Sednaoui & Egyptian Products Co.
Under the magazine’s umbrella, Susan first created Luxury for a Cause in 2008 and Cairo Fashion Nights in 2011 promoting both high profile brands and young emerging designers. Other events in Cairo had Pashion partnering up with luxury brands such as Beyman , Villa Baoubshka, Carolina Herrera, Longchamp , Dima Jewellery, and Swarovski. In London, Paris, Monte Carlo, RIyadh events for Pashion readers included at Dior, Boucheron, Chaumet, Escada, Fred,Van Cleef & Arpels and Pomellato. Nina Ricci Jo Malone, MAC and Dolce & Gabbana makeup. To promote Egyptian brands abroad PASHION hosted charity shopping events at the Egyptian Embassies in Vienna and in London.
Her background in manufacturing, she was in charge for design and retail at her mother’s children’s wear factory, as well as retailing as a partner in a Cairo high-end multi-brand boutique, as well as marketing as account director at the Cairo office at TMI International for many years, and a freelance experience as fashion editor at an Egyptian lifestyle magazine, rounds up her experience within the fashion and luxury industry.
Born and raised in Vienna, Susan holds the Austrian and Egyptian nationality, and speaks German, English, Arabic and French. Her “other passions” are tennis which she plays on a competitive level as well as painting.
She is a member of the Fundraising Committee of Sir Magdy Yacoub’s Chain Of Hope Organization, on the Board of the International Committee of the annual Bal de l’Ete in Monaco, a member of the Nefertari International Ladies Club Cairo, The B21 Business Women of Egypt Association and a member of the Egyptian Tennis Federation.
