Soha Bahgat

Dr. Soha is a renowned expert in the tourism sector, especially in the training and vocational education field, with a career spanning over two decades. As the Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for learning and development, she has spearheaded transformative initiatives to modernize Egypt’s tourism workforce, aligning it with global trends and sustainability goals. Her leadership in the €15 million EU funded program (TVET-Egypt) revolutionized vocational education in the tourism sector, fostering innovation and building capacity to meet industry demands.
In academia, Dr. Soha has excelled as a lecturer in tourism planning, heritage management, and economics. She has held leadership roles, including Head of the Tourism and hotel management Studies Department, and director of the master program in heritage management with Paris 1 pantheon Sorbonne.Her research contributions, published in Arabic, English, and French, have enriched academic discourse on tourism economy and sustainability.
Dr. Soha’s international collaborations include leading projects like the EU-backed “Heritage 2,” developed with Polytechnic Milano, and the integrated management for culture tourism project, funded by USAID for the benefit of tourism and antiquities sectors.
Her academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hotels Management and culminated in a Ph.D. in Tourism Economy from Helwan University. An advocate for continuous learning, she holds certifications in project management, educational program design, governance from Cairo University and sustainable tourism development from Cornel University.
With a vision rooted in innovation and heritage preservation, Dr. Soha is redefining Egypt’s tourism landscape, ensuring it remains a global leader in cultural exchange and sustainable development.
