Mervat Abou Oaf

Dr. Mervat Abou Oaf is a Professor of Practice and prior chair of JRMC Dept. at AUC. She received her Ph.D. from the University Autonoma of Barcelona, Spain with an “Excellent” qualification. Abou Oaf is an educator of media disciplines with a focus on media law; a trainer at the National Training Academy of the Presidential Leadership Programs (PLPs) She is Directory Board Consultant to the “Chamber of Cinema Industry” Federation in Egypt, serves in the National Council for Women in its Foreign Affairs Committee. She is a member of the Foreign Press Association, the Academic Consultant for the Cairo International Film Festival, and a board member/media consultant of “AWLADNA” Foundation for the disabled. Abou Oaf is a recipient of the AUC President’s Catalyst for Change Award;
an advocate of the soft power’s role in sharing ideologies, and a recipient of “Peace Ambassador for Arts and Culture” from Egyptian Center for World Peace and Human Rights. An active participant at the World Youth Forum in Egypt since 2017; served as its guest of honor and keynote speaker at the WYF Theatre in 2019.
