Merette has over 20 years of extensive experience in the construction industry. She joined Hassan Allam Holding as Group Chief Commercial Officer in 2018. Since then, Merette has substantially contributed to the Group in various areas across the Group, including Strategy, Work Winning, P&L, People & Organizational Culture, and Innovation & Digitalization. Currently, Merette is also the Chief Executive Officer of Legacy (a Hassan Allam Holding company, manager, and operator of the Grand Egyptian
Museum). Merette was born and raised in Sweden and moved to Egypt, where she graduated with a BSc in Construction Engineering from The American University in Cairo in 2001. She started her career in construction with Skanska in Sweden in the tendering department. Subsequently, Merette moved to the
UK, where she worked with several international construction and development companies in addition to obtaining her MBA. In 2007 Merette moved back to the Middle East with Carillion, the UK Construction and facilities management firm spent 11 years with Carillion and was exposed to various roles as part of the Leadership Programme
