Have you ever thought about the idea of studying Art in Germany, the land of science and engineering? How about a graduation project while studying Chemistry, with an artistic flavor? This is Mayan’s unique approach to life, proving every mainstream thought wrong, and going the extra mile to explore Artistic ventures, making sure she clings to every opportunity that comes her way. Currently finishing her first year as a student at the world renowned Advertising and Media School, Miami Ad School, in your most unthought of campus location…Hamburg, Germany. Mayan’s field of study, Art Direction, is a combination of diverse course, from photography to design, video making and many more that push her creativity to the limits. This diversity helped Mayan build a rich experience and portfolio. You’d expect someone pursuing such career path and postgraduate studies to be coming from an Art background. However, this kind of logic doesn’t apply to our case here, as Mayan is a proud holder of a bachelor of Science in Chemistry, from the American University in Cairo. During the university years, Mayan’s passion for Art has been driving her to join many activities on and off campus, working on Marketing, photography and advertising projects. This resulted in her achieving the incredible feat of combining science and art on her graduation project, working with one of Egypt’s most famous painters on building a database for his palette to help counter forgery. A project which grabbed attention of media in Egypt being the first of its kind in the Arab world. Last but not least, you will get the exclusive opportunity to get a flavor of Mayan’s creative ventures, through the already trending ‘two worlds one planet’ hashtag she started on social media. Get your pencils and colors ready, and hop on to Mayan’s magic bus of crazy and artistic adventures.
