Mariam Hazem is an international awarded designer, & cofounder of REFORM STUDIO. She founded Reform in 2012 with her partner Hend Riad, a multi awarded sustainable lifestyle brand based in Cairo, Egypt. Its main goal is to design for a cause while promoting for sustainable luxury. the brand Promotes for ethical design by producing a whole range of high end fashion accessories, furniture & Home accessories; all are handmade & ecofriendly made out of upcycled plastic bags and high end materials.
The brand story started after the 2011 revolution were they wanted to make a change; to design creative responsible products that benefit the environment & have a positive impact on the society by empowering local craftsmen and women with limited resources.
They’ve managed to win tons of prestigious awards for the concept & designs; like Cartier Women’s Initiative award in Paris, Rossana Orlandi Plastic Prize in Milan, Salone Internazionale del Mobile and many others..
