Husein is Saudi’s first Olympic rower who began his journey during his studies at Cambridge University. He reached the Tokyo2020 Olympic Quarterfinals where he was flag-bearer at the Opening Ceremony. He founded the Saudi Rowing Federation in 2019 and has recently been elected to the Olympic Council of Asia Athlete Committee as well as other key sports committees. He was a member of COP26 Olympians climate action campaign and appointed an ambassador to Peace & Sport organization. His passion lies in developing and supporting competitive grassroots sports initiatives in the Kingdom, fostering the ‘Olympic pathway’ for future athletes.
