Essam is an accomplished professional with 18+ years of experience, driving businesses and leading teams in the Finance sector. Essam started his career as a technology entrepreneur, successfully launching and growing technology solutions in the UAE and Qatar. He has then moved on to build a banking career with blue-chip banks including Citibank and Barclays, where he held roles such as Vice President, Retail Assets, Direct Sales and Credit Cards, amongst others. He now holds the position of Head of Financial Institutions for Visa International, based out of Cairo and has been with Visa for 6 years.
As an Egyptian National, his schooling included many years in The United States, France and India, followed by a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration.
Essam is married with two lovely boys. He is passionate about the impact of digital transformation on financial services and business and has a keen interest for business sustainability.
