Ahmed Hussein held a variety of roles in the advertising field including graphic designer, senior graphic designer, art director, senior art director, associate creative director and creative director at Leo Burnett Cairo.
In 2000 he was graphic designer at a local agency, then in 2003 he was hired by the multinational advertising agency Leo Burnett in Cairo – to work on such clients as Mobinil, P&G, Tide, H&SH, Always, Tang, Heinz, Kraft, Wessaya, Dannon, Galaxy, Carrier, Birell, amongst others.
In 2004 Hussein was promoted to Art Director and began to focus on conceptual development of 360 campaigns. Working on TV ads brought his talent and passion for storytelling to light and he was requested to work as assistant director for many of his agency’s campaigns.
Hussein won many awards while at Leo Burnett Cairo including Dubai Lynx and Mena Cristal and some of his work was shortlisted in Cannes.
In 2012 Hussein became Creative Director of Leo Burnett Cairo and in April 2013 he directed his first campaign for Mobinil that won the Grand Prix for best film in Mena Cristal 2014 and Gold in Global Cristal.
In August 2013 Hussein left Leo Burnett to pursue his career as a film director. Since then, he’s directed campaigns for major brands in Egypt, Lebanon, UAE and KSA.
Hussein holds a BA in Advertising from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Cairo.
