Ahmed Atef Haroun

As the Head of North Africa, Levant & Pakistan, Fintech Sales, Ahmed is responsible for accelerating the growth of new payments flows orchestrated by the non-banking financial institutions segment, primarily Fintechs and MNOs.

Joined Visa in 2009, Ahmed has more than 17 years of experience in the electronic payments field, of which 12 years with VISA. He started his career with Visa as the Implementation Consultant for the African francophone countries, he then became one of the early adopters worldwide of the operational account management role at Visa. The role was created to assist key clients in the region on improving their authorization approval rates for their electronic payments (Visa Brand). Following this, he became responsible for all new payment deployments for North African under his Market Readiness role, lastly, he became the Head of Account Management for North Africa before occupying his current position
Prior to joining VISA, Ahmed joined the Marketing team in Barclays Egypt, being responsible for Barclays credit cards portfolio, preceded by 5 years at Mediterranean Smart Cards Company (lately acquired by Network Intl’) managing the operational relationship of 70+ clients across Egypt & Africa (Project Management, Implementation & Configuration, System Certification, training & onboarding). worth mentioning that – that Ahmed played an instrumental role being part of the team who materialized the issuance of the first Visa chip cards in Egypt.

Ahmed is tri-lingual (French, English & Arabic) speaker who worked on multiple markets throughout his career (Levant, North, West and Central Africa).
