Daniele Salvoldi holds a PhD in Egyptology from University of Pisa (2011) and has been teaching history and theory of architecture in Egypt since 2016. He joined the British University in Egypt as a senior lecturer in February 2024 and acted as head of the Interior Department from 2024 to January 2026. He currently leads a British Council-funded project on public space, crafts and co-design in the town of Fuwwah, Kafr al-Shaykh. He published several books and articles on the history, archaeology and art of Ancient, Roman, and Coptic Egypt and on 19th-century travellers’ accounts and artwork.
