Yasmine El Dorghamy

Yasmine El Dorghamy founded Rawi Publishing for History, Heritage & Art in 2010 as a bilingual platform dedicated to making Egyptian history accessible to a wide audience.
Each year, she curates Rawi’s flagship publication—a richly illustrated bilingual reference exploring a different facet of Egypt’s past. Previous editions have celebrated Jewelry (2014), Modern Egyptian Art (2016), Cinema (2018), Culinary History (2019), and Costume (2021). The forthcoming volume, History of Medicine and Healing Practices (Dec 2025), continues this tradition of bridging rigorous research with visual storytelling.
Alongside her work with Rawi, El Dorghamy undertakes commissioned publishing projects and has spent the past year curating a permanent gallery on the history of medicine, opening in Cairo in November 2025. She also manages a scholarship foundation and teaches Visual Culture at the American University in Cairo.
