Yasmine El Dorghamy founded Rawi Publishing in 2010 out of a lifelong passion for history, heritage and art. Since then, each year, Rawi has published its namesake flagship periodical, a reference-quality publication in both English and Arabic on a selected topic from Egyptian history. Past editions include History of Modern Egyptian Art (2016), The Cinema Edition (2018), Egypt’s Culinary History (2019) and Egypt’s Costume History (2021). El Dorghamy also heads a Cairo-based educational Foundation and teaches Visual Culture at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
