Julián joins Geometry Dubai as Executive Creative Director, after two successful years in Geometry Hong Kong, where he led it to be most awarded office in Asia Pacific.
Julián moved to China in 2007 to take on the role of Creative Director at Red Lounge/Leo Burnett Shanghai, working on the Coca-Cola Olympic campaign for the 2008 Beijing Games. This move marked the beginning of a 12 years long stay in China, between Shanghai and Hong Kong, spearheading accounts like Coca-Cola, Samsung, Siemens, Skoda-Volkswagen and Procter & Gamble, this one as Regional and Global Creative Director.
Prior to his Asian experience, he was a Creative Director at McCann Erickson Chile where he was in charge of Coca-Cola and Fanta for the Southern Latin American Division operating out of Argentina. His advertising career began in 1993 with McCann-Erickson Colombia, where he worked for such clients as Coca-Cola, General Motors, Nescafé, Citibank, Visa, and Aruba Tourism Authority.
Julián has been awarded on a local, regional, and global level in every market he has worked in, for both creativity and effectiveness with a range of clients. His awarded work spans across disciplines, from digital to social media, promo and activation, experiential, direct, PR, integrated, print, outdoor, and film. Throughout his career, he has been a judge for several international award shows, including New York Festivals, Lisbon International Advertising Festival, Mobius Awards, The Eagle Awards, ABAP (Brazil), and the PMAA Dragons Of Asia. His work has been showcased in publications such as Shots, Media, Creative (Advertising Age), Time Magazine, and Contagious among others.
A father of two girls, Julián believes in Girl Power. In his spare time, he enjoys writing fiction and is an enthusiastic photographer.
