Basma Hosny has 20 years of professional experience in the field of education, working in areas of management, training, human resources and career advising. Currently she holds the position of Learning and Development Manager with Touristic Investment Company (TICO) Egypt.
Hosny worked for 6 years as a Senior Career Advisor at the Career Center at the American University in Cairo. Early in her career, Hosny realized that her passion lies in working with young children and youth to help them explore their potential and realize their dreams. Her interest, passion and flair in the field of youth development, was fostered and strengthened with her active involvement in the international non-governmental organization – CISV – promoting cross- cultural understanding, tolerance of different cultures and peace education. Such exposure guided Hosny’s holistic development of an excellent balance between interpersonal, communication, leadership and presentation skills where she gained extensive expertise in team and volunteer management as well.
Hosny is a certified experienced trainer – from curriculum development to implementation and delivery – with extensive experience in training both youth and adults on national and international levels and in both professional and volunteer settings. She is an active, animated and dynamic trainer who can easily grasp the attention of the audience with an exceptional interactive spirit of engaging participants. Hosny tailors her learning-by-doing approach to different age groups and target audiences.
She graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a minor in psychology. In 2001, Hosny earned her master’s degree in education management from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. Hosny is a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), USA, and a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).
