Mostafa El Sherif

The journey began long before the decks. As a child, Mostafa El Sherif was already carving his own sonic path, playing percussion all by himself without any formal teaching. When he formally began teaching himself music, he picked up the bass and keyboard entirely on his own, composing most of Disco Misr’s early foundational music with them. From the age of three, his musical identity had already been forged inside his father’s vast music library, surrounded by the timeless sounds of Michael Jackson, Cheb Khaled, and Yanni, blending global pop, Algerian raï, and cross-cultural melodies that shaped an unmistakably distinct artistic taste.
Years later, that very same library transitioned into the digital age, serving as the ultimate vault and the spark behind Disco Misr’s very first batch of remixes, turning childhood inspirations into a reality that lit up the scene.
Yet, the road to the studio didn’t start straight in the music scene. Before Disco Misr was born, Mostafa was a player for the Egyptian National Taekwondo Team and a coach, claiming numerous titles and championships along the way. But as his musical vision evolved, he reached a point where he wanted an even higher level—seeking out top-tier musicians across the Middle East to perform and record his compositions with elite technique. At the end of the day, the raw passion for music proved to be the ultimate calling.
And the rest is history.
