Ahmed Sharkawi

Ahmed Sharkawi is a tenured media executive and creative producer with over 30 years in MENA, having shaped over 600 hours of scripted television across production and commissioning.

He headed scripted development at Sony Pictures Television in the early days of the discipline taking root in the region, building adaptation and original pipelines when the playbook was still being written. He later led development at Beelink Productions on titles including Halawet El Donia, La Totfea El Shams, and Layali Eugenie, then joined Netflix as Director of Original Arabic Series, where he built the team and slate from the ground up, delivering originals including AlRawabi School for Girls, The Exchange, and Finding Ola.

He now advises across the industry on development strategy and creative direction, working with producers, platforms, and writers’ rooms.
