Mai brings 10 years of PR experience in the Middle East to Egypt. After seven years in Dubai and two years in Cairo working with two of the regions’ top-notch PR firms, she entered into a partnership with Publicist Inc. in November 2011. Mai’s experience was built working with clients across many sectors including government, ICT, lifestyle, entertainment, retail and healthcare. From 2010 to 2011 Mai played the lead role in managing Egypt’s General Authority for Investment (GAFI) global communication campaign in ten countries around Europe, the Middle East and Asia Following the January 25th revolution, Mai continued to consult with GAFI on crisis management and investor communications strategies. She also worked on the local PR & social media campaigns for Intel, Emirates Airlines, and Fawry. Prior to Hill & Knowlton, Mai lived in Dubai, working with Spot On Public Relations (www.spotonpr.com) from January 2003 until September 2009. Her work included planning, driving and managing campaigns in the UAE, Kuwait and region-wide. Clients included Wataniya Telecom, Jordan Telecom, IBM, Lenovo and Virgin Megastore. Social media had become a critical component of Mai’s work since 2008 and as such she worked on a strategic level with the senior management team to build social media practice and migrate clients from the traditional communication routes and onto an online platform.
