An Egyptian actress that has had a love affair with the arts since the day she was born. Mai Omar is the poster child of the current generation’s film industry. While in university, Mai developed a strong passion for acting after having performed in several short plays. Graduating with a bachelor’s in journalism, Mai pursued a career working in advertising. She started her artistic journey by directing her first video clip for Rola Saad. However, her passion to be in front of the cameras grew more and more by the day. An opportunity arose when her husband, director Mohamed Samy, gave her the chance to appear in her first role in ‘Hekayet Hayat’. He then nominated her to be in “Kalam Ala Waraq’ with singer Haifa Wahbe. Omar’s latest role and most popular was her character in “Al Ostoura” series, which aired during the month of Ramadan 2016.
