Making Free Mobile Apps Work: A Closer Look At Distinct Business Models

Track: App Track

If you’re looking to offer an integrated service with decent personalization, customer care, and expansive features, then you should consider building a mobile app for your business. But it’s much easier said than done.

According to Statista, more than 3.5 million mobile apps exist on Google Play—and around 2.2 million are on Apple App Store—as of the 2nd quarter of 2022!

Many of these mobile apps are free to use. But then, they ask you to pay for premium features, watch ads, pay to remove ads, secure funds through partners, or perhaps they adopt an altogether different revenue and business model.

This panel is proof that there is substantial room for creativity and innovation in the services offered and business models utilized by mobile apps.

It features the CEO of the Egyptian pet care-at-home app, Vetwork Inc., Fady Azzouny. Then, there is the CEO of Impactyn, Mohamed Wahid, who is convinced we should get paid for our word of mouth on social media.

Joining them is the founder and CEO of Suplift, Fadi Yehia, who are dedicated to nurturing their users’ hobbies through fun and engaging ways.

And last but not least, the serial entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Disco, Yasser El-Bendary. El-Bendary’s Disco is a free-to-use app that offers consumers cashback on everything they buy while helping them manage their personal finances! But the AI-powered mobile app is much more than that…

Moderated by Digital Content Creator, Nashwa Mostafa, we invite you to discover how they make their “free” apps work—from strategizing and building, to maintenance and profitability—in this diverse panel!
